It turns out the old piece of cheap crap I have for a disc drive (I think it's cheap anyway, it's certainly old) is kind of crap. I managed to rip just one CD before it gave up on ripping discs entirely, and I literally had to force it to not give up partway through by having the disc playing the whole time. It still plays CDs at least, it isn't completely broken (and the CD's fine too), but trying to rip a CD now causes it to immediately give up. My mom has a disc drive, I'm gonna try it tomorrow, but I'm not gonna push my luck with that because it like. Isn't mine. If it doesn't work then I'll just buy a new disc drive instead of trying to force it to work.
